Let's talk tea! Most of us know how delicious tea is. You brew a cup, feel that warmth in your hands as you take a sip and feel that velvety goodness go down. Not only tantalizing your taste buds but soothing your soul. But, did you know that tea is also full of amazing health benefits? Not only does it taste AH-mazing, but it's good for you too.
When we talk about tea, it is traditionally is in reference to the Camellia sinensis plant. Which is used to make green, black, white and oolong tea. Herbal teas are known as a tisane and is everything that does not contain the plant camellia sinensis, for example chamomile, peppermint, etc...
Each herb that goes into a tea blend contains active compounds that are responsible for their therapeutic benefits. For example chamomile contains a compound; apigenin, which has anxiolytic properties. Most teas are also high in antioxidants, which have anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.
I thought I would go through the health benefits of some of my favourite teas, just so you can gain more insight into the wonderful health properties.
