Antenatal Anxiety- What is it?
During pregnancy, experiencing anxiety is a natural occurrence, but for some individuals, it can escalate into a significant issue. Fortunately, support is readily accessible, and the initial step is reaching out for assistance. Antenatal anxiety, defined as anxiety during pregnancy, can affect either one or both parents. This condition arises when stress and worry start to influence one’s daily life. Without proper intervention, anxiety has the potential to become overwhelming, adversely impacting the individual’s overall wellbeing. What are the symptoms of Antenatal Anxiety?
Symptoms might include:-

Tips to help deal with Antenatal Anxiety…
- Regular, daily exercise. Consult your doctor/healthcare team accordingly.
- Adequate, good quality sleep.
- Mindfulness/ relaxing music/ time out
- Jotting your worries down in a journal
- Yoga/massage/meditation & acupuncture
- Healthy, regular meals/ routine
- Talking to friends/family or your health professional
- Self-compassion/ support groups/ online support
